On April 24 we will join diaspora activists across the nation for a #CancelTheDebt day of action to create awareness of the monthly debt hearing taking in place in Puerto Rico.

During this monthly hearings decisions are made about austerity measures and bond payments. On April 24, Judge Taylor Swain will be deciding on the $6 billion the Financial Oversight and Management Board declared illegal.

We are coming together for a peaceful rally outside the Headquarters of US BANK - one of the major holders of Puerto Rico´s vulture bonds along with JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America and UBS - to demonstrate that we stand in favor of debt cancellation and that we are active, alert and concerned by the results and decisions made in previous debt restructuring hearings.

WALL STREET & VULTURE FUNDS GREED ARE HURTING THE PEOPLE AND THE WORKING CLASS:

☐ High number layoff of public and private sector jobs
☐ Reduction of pension benefits current & future retirees
☐ Cuts in healthcare, hospitals & healthcare providers
☐ Highest death count and longest lasting blackout
☐ More than 300 school closures & higher college tuition
☐ IRS & Local Government targeting of small businesses
☐ Highest sales tax in the Nation at 11.5%
☐ Women's Center are being hurt
☐ Over 40 years of austerity measures

WASHINGTON, POLITICS & CORRUPTION
☐ Leaders in Washington continue to fail by creating laws that allow loopholes that place the interest of Financial Institutions over the needs of the people.
☐ Illegally appointed Fiscal Financial Board made-up of individuals with conflicts of interest.
